Don’t get me wrong; motherhood is one of the best experiences in the world. There’s nothing better than spending an hour or so watching your baby drift off to sleep. All the while, there are dishes in the sink, pet hair gathering in the corners, and the worst smells emanating from your t-shirt. It can be a really overwhelming and isolating experience. If you could use some help, you might want to consider joining a new mom group. As a Minneapolis family photographer, I am lucky enough to connect with parents who have found resources they adore! Here are some new mom groups around Minneapolis I always recommend.
5315 Lyndale Avenue S, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55419
At Blooma, they understand that it takes a village. That’s why they give you a new mom group community where you can come and be honest about what you are currently going through in Minneapolis. You can get started before your baby is even born, thanks to their Pregnancy Centering Group. Once your baby arrives, you can come in for a Motherhood Series Group where you can connect with other postpartum moms. They also have really great specialty sessions that can help you with things like pelvic floor dysfunction or your baby’s sleep. And if you need an open space where you can vent, you are going to adore their New Mom Group!
4820 W. 77th St, Unit 105, Edina, Minnesota 55435
The Amma Parenting Center has a Minneapolis New Mom group that I really adore! They invite you to bring your baby and connect with other moms who know exactly what you are going through. Once a week, you will come and hang out for two hours. During this time, the teachers are going to chat about things like newborn feeding, sleep, postpartum changes, and relationships. They also will support you as you make the decision to return to work or stay home. These sessions last for six weeks and are perfect for mamas of babies ages 1-8 weeks.
New Moms Network gives you a more informal approach to group meetings in Minneapolis. The groups are facilitated by new moms, giving you the ability to find the session that works the best for you. Over the course of six weeks, you are going to connect with other moms as you chat about things like your birth experiences as well as some emotional changes you might be experiencing once your baby is born. After the six-week sessions end, many of the mom groups continue to meet, giving you friends at every step of your journey through parenthood!
With these new mom groups in Minneapolis, you are going to have the support you need once your baby is born. If you need a way to form new connections, be sure to check them out!

When you have a toddler, you need every opportunity to take a break from your ordinary routine. The fact is that younger kids learn best through exploration. They want to run around, climb, and find things that capture their ever-changing interests. Luckily, we have a ton of spots around Minnesota where you can make some pretty wonderful memories! As a Minneapolis family photographer, I adore working with families to help them make the most of every moment. Here are some of my favorite toddler activities in St. Paul, MN!
10 West Seventh Street, St. Paul, Minnesota 55102
Minnesota Children’s Museum is an interactive space made for kids of all ages. Spanning three floors, this space invites St. Paul, MN toddlers to learn through play. Inside, your child can pretend to put out fires at the Fire Station or step into a shipwreck for an “underwater” adventure. There is a special “Sprouts” area created just for kiddos ages 3 and under. Once you’re done in here, you can go outside for the Sensory Garden and the Musical Playground.
1225 Estabrook Drive, St. Paul, Minnesota 55103
If your toddler is completely wild about animals, the Como Zoo is the St. Paul, MN spot for them! Open year-round, the zoo always has something exciting happening! They offer regular storytimes where kids can come in and hear stories about critters next to the actual exhibits. You can come in and hear chats from the zookeepers or watch as the polar bears swim around. During warmer weather, you can spend hours walking across different habitats to see creatures from across the globe.
755 Prior Avenue North, Suite #004, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55104
Can Can Wonderland tends to be one of my favorite St. Paul, MN recommendations for toddler families with siblings across different age groups. This destination has a little bit of everything, including mini golf, vintage pinball, and arcade games. They have food and drinks as well as live entertainment. You can even swing by for kids’ karaoke, where kids of all ages are invited to come and belt out their favorite tunes!
400 Snelling Ave N, St. Paul, Minnesota 55104
Trust me, you do not need to be a major soccer fan to have the time of your life at a Minnesota United FC game. Pretty much every seat in the stadium gives you a premium look at the field. And the vibes here? Completely unmatched! There’s a supporter section with only standing seats. While this might not be the best place for younger kids, they keep the energy throughout the stadium by leading cheers and songs. No matter how old your child is, you are going to have an unforgettable time! I would recommend bringing some ear protection for your little one, just in case.
With these toddler activities in St. Paul, MN, you’ll always have something to do! Now, it’s just a matter of making sure those memories can last. That’s exactly why I am here!
